Today I want a new coffee table!

I want a new coffee table! At the Tent Fair during London Art Week last year I saw this table from Red Apple Creation. I just love it!

I LOVE Marrakech!

Went to Marrakech on a girls trip in January. Stayed at the most wonderful hotel I have ever stayed at!It was a large family house rebuilt to the most amazing place. At Riad El Fenn everything was a delight for all senses. They have a great art collection on display around the house, all rooms had its own character, they have their own little spa and Hamam, the food was delicious, staff very friendly and helpful, and they had the most fabulous roof terrace, a real haven to enjoy the sun, some drinks or a meal.

Riad El Fenn also arrange and hosts the Marrakech art biennale, focusing on cutting-edge contemporary art, literature and film. This year running from February 29th to March 3rd, although most of the artwork from the Biennale will be displayed at the Riad until the beginning of June. For more informaiton about the Biennale, click here.

If you are going to Marrakech, I can also recommend this site, which is Gwyteth Paltrows guide to Marrakech. The shopping was great too, and very cheap! (Don´t forget to bargain!) I bought colourful bowls, and for art I got beautiful iron work from a blacksmith in a corner of the market. I can not stop raving about Marrakech, and I will go back as soon as I can!

Royal Art!

The first birthday gift I ever bought for my husband (then boyfriend) was a painting. A very funky and fun friend of mine made even funkier artwork. Since then (12 years ago) her work is very much in demand, especially after painting portraits of and for the Swedish Royal Family! (Now hanging in the Swerish Royal Castle in Stockholm.) Check out her work at http://nasmark.nu/

However, she does not only paint Royalties...

Where to shop in Dublin

Just got back from a short trip to Dublin, Ireland. Found a Looovely shop there called Avoca. The whole shop of 4 floors(!) felt like you were at someones very cozy home. Here you can get anything; clothes, shoes, toys, cushions, bed linen, books, posters, garden things, postcards... They even had a cafĂ© and a deli on the bottom floor, and a restaurant and a bakery on the top floor! I will definetly go there again! Bought a throw and two vintage style posters for the summer house.

Gift ideas

Today 10 years since my husband propsed to me on Copacabana Beach, Rio de Janeiro. Made him something for the wall (of course!) Googled a picture of the beach, found one on http://www.dreamstime.com/; great place for all sorts of pictures. Bought the picture, orderd a print online (A3 size) on high quality matte paper (arrived the next day!). Got a glittery heart from a stationary shop, stuck it on and wrote the text. Frame from IKEA. Voilá ! A quite cheap and very personal gift! If you can´t be bothered making your own, check out this website http://www.ilovedesign.net/ for great personalised gifts, that are very reasonably priced too!

Affordable Art Fair

Time for one of the best art shows in London; the Affordable Art Fair in Battersea Park SW11! Save the dates 15-18 Mars for a visit to the fair where everything is for sale and nothing costs more than 4000 pounds. (There is a lot of cheaper stuff too!) The fair has a good size; takes just an hour or two to go through. A perfect date; a glass of wine or two while browsing, then a visit to a nice restaurant.
